About GB Castle Rock
Gracie Barra Castle Rock is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu academy built around discipline, confidence, community, and personal growth. We provide structured training for kids, teens, and adults in a safe, welcoming environment where students of all experience levels can learn, improve, and feel supported.
Our programs follow the Gracie Barra curriculum while giving each student the attention and encouragement they need to progress at their own pace. Whether the goal is self-defense, fitness, competition, confidence, or simply finding a strong community, we want every student to leave the mats better than when they walked in.

Adam
Coach | GB Castle Rock
-
Coach Adam began his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu journey in 2020 at the age of 40. Although he had always been interested in the sport, it was his five-year-old son starting Jiu-Jitsu that finally inspired him to step onto the mats himself.
When Adam began training, he weighed nearly 300 pounds and struggled with low energy and motivation. Within just a few months, he experienced significant weight loss, improved mental clarity, and a renewed sense of confidence. What started as a personal fitness journey quickly became a passion that transformed his life and introduced him to lifelong friendships.
With over 15 years of experience coaching youth football and baseball, Adam brings a strong background in mentorship, leadership, and athlete development to Gracie Barra Castle Rock. His greatest reward as a coach is helping others discover the same physical, mental, and personal benefits that Jiu-Jitsu has brought to his own life.
Outside of Jiu-Jitsu, Adam enjoys playing ice hockey, spending time on the golf course with his family, and staying active.
Adam believes Jiu-Jitsu is more than a martial art. It’s an opportunity to build confidence, develop lasting friendships, and create positive, lifelong change.

A Family Business Built Around Community
Gracie Barra Castle Rock is proudly owned and operated by Adam and Tina, along with their son, Calvin. Their connection to Jiu-Jitsu began the same way it does for many of our students—as white belts simply looking to learn, grow, and become part of something positive.
What they found was much more than a martial art. Through their own experience as students, they saw firsthand how Jiu-Jitsu can build confidence, strengthen relationships, and positively impact people’s lives. That experience became a major part of why they chose to make the academy their own.
For Adam and Tina, the most rewarding part of owning the school is the people. They value the friendships, trust, and personal relationships that grow through training and want every student and family who walks through the door to feel welcomed, supported, and part of a team.
Adam brings more than ten years of experience coaching kids across a variety of sports, while Tina brings a background in family studies and child development. Together, they are proud to bring those experiences into the academy and help create a community built around hard work, trust, friendship, and personal growth.
