Tiny Champions
“THE FIRST STEP ONTO THE MAT”
Tiny Champions: Ages 3–4
At Gracie Barra Castle Rock, our Tiny Champions program for ages 3–4 gives young children a fun, positive introduction to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu while building the skills they need for the next stage of training.
Children work on:
Problem solving
Coordination and balance
Listening and following directions
Body awareness and movement
Confidence and independence
Partner awareness and safe movement
Basic mat etiquette and class structure
Each class uses movement games, partner activities, and simple techniques designed specifically for 3–4-year-old students, helping prepare them for Little Champions 1 at ages 5–6.

The biggest benefits of Jiu-Jitsu often go far beyond the techniques themselves. Through consistent training, kids learn how to face challenges, work with others, stay focused, and build confidence in a structured and supportive environment.
Confidence in new situations
Positive social interaction
Patience and self-control
Comfort working with a partner
Resilience through challenges
Respect for coaches and classmates
Greater independence and responsibility
A positive attitude toward learning and growth

Parents often notice the biggest changes outside the academy. The structure and habits children practice in class can start showing up at home, at school, and in everyday situations.
Better listening at home & school
More confidence trying new things
Improved patience and self-control
Greater independence
More comfort around other children
Learning to follow routines and expectations
Handling frustration in a healthier way
Pride in learning and accomplishing something new

Does my child need any experience?
Not at all. Our kids Jiu-Jitsu programs are designed to welcome beginners, and we introduce skills at a pace that matches each age group and experience level. What should they wear to their first class?
Comfortable athletic clothing is perfect for a first visit. We’ll help you with uniform details once you’re ready to get started. What if they are shy or nervous?

Yes. Parents are welcome to watch and see how their child responds to the class environment. How long are the classes?
Class length varies by age group, with each program designed to match the focus, energy level, and developmental needs of the students. What happens if my child has trouble participating?
We stay patient and encouraging. Every child adjusts differently, and our coaches work to help each student become more comfortable, confident, and involved over time.
